Community Gardens

In our region, community gardens are a great way to bring people together. These shared green spaces connect residents from different backgrounds, helping them to work together, share gardening tips and forge lasting friendships.

Community gardens contribute to food security and a healthy lifestyle!

Local groups and organizations play a vital role in these initiatives, organizing events and workshops that encourage everyone to get involved. Gardening side by side helps neighbours feel a sense of unity and belonging, making our community more inclusive and supportive.

Community gardens are becoming increasingly popular, in partnership with engaged individuals, local organizations, schools and municipalities.
The municipalities of Shediac and Cap-Acadie support community garden projects so more and more people can learn gardening and access nutritious food, whatever their income. Local organizations can also teach sustainable practices such as organic gardening, composting, water conservation, and the importance of native plants in supporting pollinators. These gardens help create good habits that benefit both people and the environment.
